Fruited Michelada – 4.0% ABV

Inspired by classic michelada recipes in south San Diego and northern Baja, our michelada features Barrio Lager, pure tomato juice, real lime juice, ocean clam juice, Worcestershire sauce, ponzu, and hot sauce. In this series, we have added seasonal fruits for a touch of sweetness that plays off the zesty flavors of the michelada. 

Flavor Profile: Bold, savory and slightly spicy with the freshness of guava fruit coming through at the end.

Totally Tangy Mango

Chocolate Covered Series in Collaboration with Chuao Chocolatier: Milk Stout – 6.0% ABV

In collaboration with local confectioners, Chuao Chocolatiers, we embarked on a journey to reimagine their innovative and delectable chocolate bars as beer.

Flavor Profile:

This traditional oatmeal stout provides tantalizing tastes of toasted bread and dark caramel. Flavors from the mango puree are enhanced by the aromas of ripe tropical fruits from the Amarillo hops. It’s all woven together with notes of deep, rich chocolate from the fresh cacao, finishing with a touch of sea salt and lime.


West Coast Double India Pale Ale – 8.0% ABV

The definition of “opus” is any artistic work, especially one on a large scale. While this concept is most often applied to music, we have composed our own beer-oeuvre with Opus IIPA, a collaboration with Artifex Brewing Co. that puts the music in your mouth.

Flavor Profile: Grandiloquent flavors of passion fruit and orange from the Strata and Amarillo hops are accompanied by a counter melody of intense apricot and berry notes from the Simcoe Cryo-hops to create this melodic beer-opus.

HOPS: Strata, Amarillo, Cryo Simcoe 

Blueberry Pie-der

Apple Beer – 5.0% ABV

Never trust a person who doesn’t like pie. We like pie, so we decided to create an apple beer series that takes our favorite pie flavors and mashes them together to create a bright, crisp libation that might even help change those non-pie-lovers’ hearts and minds. 

Flavor Profile: While relatively dry, this beer is balanced out by flavors of smooth apple and fresh blueberries. It’s like a delicious blueberry pie in the face without the mess.

Berried Alive

Fruit Smoothie Sour – 7.1% ABV

Being buried alive is a common phobia called taphophobia. Fear of fruit is called fructophobia and is much less common. While there is not a specific definition for the fear of being buried alive by berries, maybe there should be because it sounds terrifying. In this series, we use seasonal fruits and berries in a fruit smoothie-style of beer to create a creamy, luscious concoction.  

Flavor Profile: The fresh blueberries, blackberries, and strawberries help bring a clean tartness while the lactose helps to create a creamy, velvety texture that allows for a smooth and delightful mouthfeel.

Guava Goodness

Fruited Hazy India Pale Ale – 7.2% ABV

Hazy IPAs are often described as juicy and what’s juicier than fruit? We decided to explore where these two flavors converge by adding seasonal fruit from our Low Hanging Sour series to our most popular hazy IPA, Hopster Pot, creating a perfect union between fruited and hazy.

Flavor Profile: Pours like sunset in a can, this hazy IPA boasts juicy, tropical flavors from the ripe guava which play off of the citrus and stone fruit notes from the hops.

HOPS: Mosaic, Amarillo, Centennial

Flavor Profile:

Exploding with flavors of nectarine and plum from the Strata hops and a distinct citrus nose from the Citra, this West Coast IPA finishes with reticent, herbaceous notes.
HOPS: Strata, Simcoe, Citra 

Zero Gravity

Hazy Double India Pale Ale – 8.0% ABV

After securing our first hop contract with Strata as well as scoring some hard to come by Australian Galaxy hops, we decided to celebrate by blending them with one of our all time favorites, Citra, creating a hazy IPA that is truly out of this world. 

Flavor Profile:

Passion fruit, peach, and grapefruit notes hit you up front from the liberal use of hops in this juicy IPA, finishing with hints of tangerine zest.
HOPS: Strata and Galaxy

Allen Town

West Coast India Pale Ale – 8.2% ABV

Meet Paxton the pug. Paxton is Taylor Allen’s (Thorn Director of Sales) dog and the official mascot of Allen Town, USA. Thanks to this collaboration brew with our friends at Claremont Craft Ales, we are stoked to finally give an official flavor to Allen Town. With Taylor and CCA both being from Southern California, we felt it most appropriate to make a West Coast IIPA. So welcome to Allen Town; SoCal Brewed and Paxton approved.

Brother Scotty’s

Imperial India Pale Ale - 11.0% ABV

When Thorn North Park’s first head brewer, Scotty Kaplan, retired his boots to pursue his surfboard shaping career, we wanted to make a beer in his honor. Brewed every February, this huge triple IPA is the defending champ of the preeminent IIIPA competition held here in San Diego.
Flavor Profile: An exceedingly drinkable 11% IPA. Not too boozy, not too sweet, flavors of citrus, pine and mango work together to create an impressively balanced triple IPA.
HOPS: Simcoe, Citra, Amarillo, Centennial

Spicy Maya

Dry Irish Stout - 6.0% ABV

In collaboration with local confectioners, Chuao Chocolatiers, we embarked on a journey to reimagine their innovative and delectable chocolate bars as beer.

Caramel and roasted coffee notes from the British specialty malts blend harmoniously with a rich chocolate flavor from the liberal use of raw dark cacao nibs.  A slight warming follows from the pasilla peppers and Cayenne pepper along with hints of cinnamon.

Low & Be Told

Hazy Double India Pale Ale - 8.1% ABV

Low and be Told is an epic hazy in tribute to legendary North Park Bartender Doug Thompson and named after his San Diego band. Delicious and punk as fuck. 


Flavor profile:

Beautifully strong yet balanced, this juicy IPA packs a real punch for the hopheads. Aromas and flavors of orange, peach, and mangos linger on the tongue with this medium bodied, low bitter IPA.

 Hops: Citra, Mosaic, Ekuanot


Event Horizon

Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout in Bourbon Barrels - 12.3% ABV

We lovingly aged our favorite imperial stout in Heaven Hills bourbon barrels for one year and then blended it with Mexican cinnamon, Madagascar vanilla beans, and cacao for an experience that is out of this galaxy. Enjoy it on the event horizon of your life.


Flavor Profile: Flavors of dark chocolate, coffee, caramelized fruit (figs, plums, and cherries), cinnamon, and vanilla with hints of bourbon coming through in the end.

Dickel Pickleback Ralph

Barrel-Aged Pickel Sour in Dickel Rye Barrels - 7.0% ABV

My grandfather had a name for people who chased their whiskey with pickle brine…Economizers. Throwing this idea on its head, we dumped our Pickle Ralph into rye whiskey barrels and pulled every last drop of booze from the wood and into your mouth (it sure beats the shit out of licking the wood). The result is this Imperial gose with cucumber, sea salt, peppercorns, and Sorachi Ace hops with a rye whiskey kick.

Flavor Profile: Deep gold in color. Tart and briny cucumber flavors up front with a spicy peppery bite, and finishing with subtle dill from the use of Sorachi Ace hops.

Caneberry Sour

Barrel-Aged Fruited Sour Ale in Bourbon Barrels - 6.8% ABV

Blackberries are a type of caneberry…surprised you didn’t know that. As berry enthusiasts, we are leading the charge in replacing the word ‘bramble’ with ‘caneberry.’ Because bramble reminds people of the painful bramble patch that Brier Rabbit was thrown into, there is a worldwide movement to replace it with caneberry. In its honor, we give you a sour ale with blackberries, aged two years in bourbon barrels.

Flavor Profile: Flavors of tart cherry and blackberry balanced with a sour, dry finish.

Father Larry’s

IIPA - 8.1% ABV

Father Larry’s IIPA is brewed in honor of Larry Koger, co-owner of West Coast BBQ, man of the cloth and craft beer superfan. Larry passed away in 2016 and was always a huge supporter of Thorn so every year we brew this beer to celebrate his life and the impact he had on the San Diego craft beer community.

Flavor Profile: Bright aroma of citrus zest and tropical fruits are backed by a synergy of deep, intense flavors of tangerine, grapefruit, mango, and guava with some pine and corriander notes on the back end.

Stand Off

Oyster Stout - 7.7% ABV

A dry Irish stout with oysters in the boil, Stand Off is incredibly dark with roasted and chocolate malt flavors up front, low hop bitterness and finishes with flavors of the sea; salt and umami.

Black Paw

Hard Ginger Beer - 5.0% ABV

Black Paw Hard Ginger Beer is an alcoholic ginger beer with a kick. We use natural ingredients to pack a pronounced, zesty bite of ginger, undercutting its featured sweetness with the tart acidity of lime.

Couch Bound

Hazy IIPA - 8.0% ABV

With double the hops and double the malts, Couch Bound DIPA is best savored on your couch at home since you aren’t supposed to be going anywhere anyway right now.

Flavor Profile: Huge juicy notes of tangerine, mango, and pink guava with subtle undertones of lemon zest and black pepper.

Pink Passion

Fruited Hazy India Pale Ale - 7.0% ABV

This 7% fruited, hazy IPA is bursting with notes of passion fruit, pineapple, papaya, citrus, and guava. This charmingly pink IPA is incredibly fragrant and delightfully refreshing. ⁠

Wedding Bliss

Pale Ale - 6.0% ABV

Brothers Cascadia Brewing x Thorn Collaboration

Wedding Bliss Pale Ale (6% ABV) is the celebration of two amazing people, Joe Lisica of Brothers Cascadia and his fiancé, Katie Ostler, bringing you the lovely marriage of hops and malts in this bright pale ale. They selected some of their favorite aromatic hops to bring notes of passionfruit, guava, grapefruit, and lycée. Then, a generous amount of Maris Otter malts were used as the foundation of this union.

Eppig Brewing x Thorn Collaboration

Ages ago, not far from here, Clayton, Nate, and Doug brewed for a nautical themed brewery in San Diego… but that’s another story. Nate and Clayton manifested their dreams of opening a brewery, and Eppig Brewing was reborn. To celebrate the band getting together, a hoppy lager was conceived. This beer is close to Fantasia with notes of orange marmalade, Meyer lemon zest, white wine grapes, honey, and almond. “Never give up and good luck will find you.”

Raccoonicorn Redux

Rye India Pale Ale - 6.5% ABV

Three Weavers x Imperial Western x Thorn Collaboration

The fabled Raccoonicorn lives somewhere between the realm of myths and legends. Rarely seen, this whimsical creature only emerges in the waning days of summer. With the combined awesome powers of Devon Randall & Alexandra Nowell, this mythical being is lulled out of hiding. Filling the steel cauldron with copious amounts of rye and the aromatic flowers of Galaxy, Nelson, Vic Secret, and Strata, they were able to concoct a potion that would humble Merlin himself. The notes of tropical fruit, berries, and citrus burst from this brew in the perfect blend to please any Raccoonicorn.

Pine Hollows

West Coast Style IPA - 6.5% ABV

Burgeon x Thorn Collaboration

The sound of trumpets fills the air accompanied by aromas of citrus and pine. This summertime classic was brewed in collaboration with our friends at Burgeon Beer Company. Bursting with notes of grapefruit, guava, and pine from the generous use of Simcoe, Mosaic, and Chinook hops, enjoy these tree hugs in a can wherever you are and always remember to pack it in, pack it out.
