Comic-Con is officially here and the next 4 days will be filled with movie stars, network big-wigs and super heroes of all shapes and sizes. Whether from Marvel or DC, super heroes need to quench their thirsts and being that we are in the Craft Beer Capital of the world, we thought we would give you a peek into the beers that some of our favorite super heroes will be drinking while here in SD.
Ironman: Arrogant Bastard American Strong Ale 7.2% (Stone Brewing)
Arrogant Bastard is an easy pick for Tony Stark since he is such a beautiful, arrogant bastard. This American strong ale from Stone Brewing has just enough of a bite to keep Mr. Stark in line.
The Incredible Hulk: The Menace IIPA 9% (Thorn Street Brewery)
The Hulk will most likely be drinking a Menace IIPA from TSB. With his uncontrollable temper he is definitely a menace, but he also has his scientific side as Bruce Banner, much like our brewmaster and resident mad scientist (and previous UCSD scientist), Eric O’Connor.
Deadpool: Le Freak Belgian Style Imperial IPA 9.2% (Green Flash Brewing Co.)
He may think he’s a freak because of the his burns, but he is definitely one of the fan favorites. Le Freak is described as “shockingly zesty” which some would say describes Deadpool pretty well.
Batman: Fly By Night Milk Stout 6.5% (32 North Brewing Co.)
A dark beer for a dark super hero. Yes, he has his personal demons, but at least he can soothe them with a cold pint of this Milk Stout from 32 North Brewing Co.
Robin: Boy Wonder IPA 7.1% (Bagby Beer Co.)
Sure, it’s on the nose, but Robin would definitely be drinking a Boy Wonder American IPA by Bagby Beer Co. if Batman ever let him be in a movie again.
Black Widow: Sultry Stout 5.8% (Dos Desperados Brewery)
This bad-ass heroine will no doubt be sipping on a Dos Desperados Sultry Stout.
Wolverine: The Scrapper 7.7% (Societe Brewing)
Wolverine is the resident alcoholic hero and also the scrapper in this crowd. San Diego Dark Ale, from Societe Brewing will suit his mood as well as his tastes.
Bluntman and Chronic: OG HighPA Session IPA 4.20% (Thorn Street Brewery)
Although these two might not have the same fame as the other’s, there is one beer that they will definitely be drinking if they make their way to Comic-Con San Diego. OG HighPA is brewed with cannabis terpenes and has a very distinct nose and taste. It’s been said that it smells like your unemployed neighbor and we take that as a compliment.
