If you have been hanging around the brewery at all over the last month, you’ve probably seen some pretty crazy shenanigans. That’s because our staff here at TSB was engaged in a test run of one of the most fun games ever played at a brewery. We went over the rules in a recent blog post, but here is the nitty-gritty… 4 teams of 5 staff members competed in a series of ridiculous challenges with different points assigned to each task. The team with the most points at the end of the month won $1000! We held our awards ceremony on Monday and although it was a very close game, Team Bologna Sandwiches won with team members, Tom Kiely (Sales), Paulina Granados (Beer-tender), Scott Kaplan (beer-tender), Jeremiah May (Brewer), Macall Yacobucci and Dennis O’Connor (Co-Owner)!
We learned a lot over the last few months…some people don’t mind getting tattoos inside their lip at the possibility of winning money and you don’t get arrested (though they don’t like it) at a bank if you walk in with your face painted like a raccoon and ask for change for $100 bill. We also learned that our staff is not great at cooking but really super at sneaking growlers in places and not afraid to ask a cop for a pic!
The best part about all of this is that this time was a dry run for turning the Challenge over to the real Thorn Tribe, which is all of you! That’s right, we are revising and improving the challenges so that our lovely patrons can compete against each other to build points and win sweet prizes at the end! We will be announcing the start of the Official Thorn Tribe Challenge coming up within the next couple of weeks, so keep an eye out on our FB page for upcoming details!
